Granny Granny Please Comb my Hair Summary in English:-
This poem is about a young girl and her grandmother. The young girl asks her grandmother to comb her hair. She talks about how her grandmother cares for her. She further talks about how she sits and rubs coconut oil in her hair. She tells how her grandmother praises her after finishing combing her hair.
Summary in Hindi:-
यह कविता एक छोटी-सी लड़की तथा उसकी दादी के बारे में है। छोटी लड़की अपनी दादी से बालों में कंघी | करने को कहती है। वृह इस बारे में बताती है कि किस प्रकार उसकी दादी उसका ध्यान रखती हैं। वह आगे बताती है कि किस प्रकार उसकी दादी बैठकर उसके बालों में नारियल का तेल लगाती हैं। वह बताती है कि किस प्रकार उसकी दादी उसके बालों में कंघी करने के बाद उसकी सराहना करती हैं।

Granny, Granny!!
Please comb my hair.
You always take your time,
You always take such care.
You put me to sit on a cushion
Between your knees;
You rub a little coconut oil,
Parting gentle as a breeze.
Granny You have all the time in the world,
And when you’re finished
You always turn my head and say,
“Now, who’s a nice girl?”
दादी दादी
कृपया मेरे बालों में कंघी कर दीजिए।
आप हमेशा सही समय पर,
मेरा ध्यान रखती हैं।
मुझे छोटी तोशक पर अपने घुटनों
के बीच में बिठाकर
आप मेरे बालों में थोड़ा-सा नारियल का तेल ऐसे
रगड़ती हैं, जैसे बालों में ठंडी हवा का एहसास होता है।
…. दादी आप दुनिया का सारा समय लगाकर
जब काम को पूरा करती हैं तो
आप हमेशा मेरा सिर घूमाकर कहती हैं।
“अब बताओ, प्यारी बच्ची कौन है?”

Care (केयर) -to take notice of something, ध्यान रखना।
Cushion (कुशन) -a small pillow, गद्दी।

Coconut oil (कोकेनट ऑयल) -oil of a fruit named coconut, नारियल का तेल।
Parting (पार्टिग) -dividing the hair in two sections with a comb, बालों में माँग निकालना।
Gentle (जेंटल) -soft, हल्का। Breeze (ब्रीज) -light wind, हल्की ठंडी, मंद वायु।
Finished (फ़िनिश्ड) -complete something, काम संपन्न किया।
